Saturday night Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue was dispatched to a wreck which was reportedly caused by drag racing on N.C. Highway 690. The wreck involved one vehicle and witnesses reported that the driver of the wrecked car got into another car and left the area before authorities arrived.
Highway 690 was closed to one lane of traffic for approximately one hour while the Highway Patrol investigated the wreck and the vehicle and debris was removed from the highway.
