The National Fire Protection Association reports that 71% of smoke alarms which failed to operate had missing, disconnected or dead batteries, making it important to take this time each year to check your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.

•Install a smoke alarm on every floor of your home, even the basement.
•Install a smoke alarm outside every sleeping area. Ideally, install smoke alarms in every sleeping area, too.
•Replace smoke alarms after 10 years.

Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue provides Smoke Detectors and Batteries free of charge to occupants of our fire district, we will also install the detectors or batteries for you. Please feel free to call any of our stations to schedule a smoke detector installation.
