On Friday, Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue units were dispatched to an outside fire on J. Burns Road. While units were enroute from CPFR and the N.C. Forestry Service with an outside fire response the call was upgraded to a structure fire response.
The upgraded response added units from Crains Creek Fire Department, Spout Springs Fire Department and Moore County EMS.
Upon our arrival crews attacked the grass fire which was moving rapidly. It was determined that the endangered mobile home was not on fire however, firefighters had to cut the fire off before the home became involved.
This fire was caused by outside burning by the occupant which got out of control.
