Ready for Anything?

At the heart of our mission as a fire department is ensuring the safety and well-being of our community, which begins with being prepared for anything. While the concept of "anything" varies depending on a community's unique needs, certain factors like population, density, district size, potential hazards, and available resources shape our approach to readiness.

This commitment to preparedness becomes especially critical during severe weather events, such as the two winter storms North Carolina experienced this January. To ensure we can respond effectively during such events, CPFR follows a comprehensive Storm Readiness Policy.

Through this policy, we take a proactive approach to protecting our community. When a weather event is predicted, we increase staffing at stations, enabling additional firefighters to be on duty throughout the storm and its aftermath. This also allows us to double- and triple-check equipment, ensuring everything is in peak condition before the storm hits.

By implementing these measures, we ensure we are fully staffed, well-prepared, and ready to respond when the community needs us most. This proactive approach not only enhances our operational readiness but also reflects our unwavering commitment to the safety, trust, and well-being of the citizens we proudly serve.
