Moore County Firefighters Deployed to Assist with Black Cove Wildfire

On Wednesday, ten firefighters from Moore County deployed to Polk County, North Carolina, to assist with the Black Cove Wildfire Complex at the request of the North Carolina Office of the State Fire Marshal, Forestry Service, and Emergency Management.

Their primary mission is structural protection and water supply. The team is working around the clock, with firefighters split into two shifts—one working during the day and the other at night—while their fire apparatus remains in service 24/7.

Firefighters from the following departments are part of this deployment:
Carthage Fire Department
Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue
Pinehurst Fire Department
Southern Pines Fire Department
West End Fire Department
Whispering Pines Fire Department
