On Friday, Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for Fire Station 4 at 295 Youngs Road. The event included several members of the fire department, the Board of Directors, and our contractor DR Reynolds. While primarily symbolic the groundbreaking recognizes the official start of construction. Fire Chief Mike Cameron reminded those in attendance of the importance of a fire station opening in an under-served community. This obviously should equate to faster response times for fire and medical emergencies and will ultimately reduce insurance premiums for property owners as well as place services closer to the community without a tax increase. Chief Cameron also spoke about to partnership between the Fire Department and Moore County EMS which will also staff an EMS unit from this station. Many people from the department as well as the community came together to make the construction of this station possible.
