From the Front Lines: Wrecks in June 2025
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Department Chief Mike Cameron
July 1, 2025

Each month, Cypress Pointe Fire/Rescue responds to multiple vehicle crashes throughout our district. Many try to explain why our area—and our county—see so many wrecks and related injuries. The truth is, there isn’t just one reason.

Some blame cell phones, young drivers, speed limits, population growth, or infrastructure (roads) that hasn’t kept up with development. There's truth in all of these. But no single explanation applies to every incident.

In our effort to assign blame or find simple answers, we often overlook the broader issue: our driving habits.

We're all in a hurry. We're running late. We’re distracted, aggressive, impatient. We forget to drive defensively and fail to show basic respect for others on the road.

The solution starts with each of us.
Slow down.
Leave earlier.
Share the road.
Treat others the way you’d want to be treated behind the wheel, respectfully.

A little respect and common courtesy can go a long way. It can save lives. It can prevent the next wreck we respond to.

This message comes from experience—from those of us who see the aftermath of wrecks far too often. Let’s all do our part to make our roads safer.
